Get to know the Namlo International Staff
Ms. Welland graduated cum laude from Miami University in 1980 with a BS in Electromechanical Engineering. She was an engineer in the consumer goods and medical device industry for 17 years, after which she began working on various projects in Nepal in the fields of economic opportunity, women’s rights, organic waste disposal, and water supply. Her previous roles as a business advisor, professional mentor, safety officer, and project engineer for multiple organizations vests her with the experience to be an impactful executive director of Namlo International.
Ms. Welland lives in Seattle with her two children and two dogs. She loves to garden, has a love-hate relationship with Crossfit workouts, and is also a professional jazz musician.
Program & Administrative Coordinator
Hailey Kiefer graduated from University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire in 2015 with a degree in Political Science and Geography. During her undergrad, Hailey fundraised and organized for groups like Human Trafficking Abolitionists, Liberty in North Korea, and the UWEC College Feminists. After graduation, she worked as a lead campaign organizer for the LGBTQ civil rights group and the Human Rights Campaign. Hailey has been a devoted supporter and employee of Namlo since the fall of 2016, but has recently left her full-time post with us to further her studies in Tel Aviv, Israel. Hailey plans to return to us as a volunteer and board member when her studies are finished.
Country Director - Nepal
Mr. Joshi was born in an extremely remote village of Baitadi district, in the far western region of Nepal, and was educated in Kumaun University, India. He has a Master’s degree in Sociology and also gained technical expertise working as a Junior Agriculture Technician. He has a decade long history of working with USAID, Helen Keller International Nepal and CECI International Nepal. His expertise is in community development, micro-entrepreneurship and team building. Mr. Joshi has led Namlo’s in-country efforts in Nepal for over 10 years, through the organization Dedicated Society for Broad Development, an NGO registered with the Nepal Government.
